About Accidental Anthems

Accidental Anthems is created by a married creative partnership with backgrounds in music, storytelling, cultural observation and live performance.

Over many years, we have performed before thousands of audiences, on stages ranging from the closing echoes of vaudeville to contemporary city theaters, shaped by life on the road and the particular honesty of live performance.

We are not interested in becoming the subject of the work.
We are interested in the work itself — and in the shared pleasure of recognizing ourselves in it.

Our releases grow out of conversation, listening, and the long tradition of songs that quietly say what everyone is already thinking. Some are musical. Some are theatrical. All are made to be enjoyed together.

We prefer to let the songs take the spotlight.

Our Approach

We believe humor works best when it is generous.
That intelligence does not require explanation.
And that laughter is often the most human response available.

Accidental Anthems exists to make room for that laughter — thoughtfully, carefully, and without urgency.
